Facilities & Resources

IIS provides facilities with state-of-the art technology to ensure the satisfaction and safety of our students while studying here. IIS ensures its management efficiency through strict adherence to the standard QMS ISO 9001:2000. The school has to go through ISO audits annually to ensure that it maintains the QMS ISO 9001:2000 certification. In order to support the strict academic guidelines set by the Cambridge University Board of Education, IIS imposes a duty on itself to provide the best infrastructure to its students.


Classrooms
All our classrooms are spacious, well-furnished and air-conditioned to ensure that students are comfortable and are able to focus on their academic pursuits. The school is also committed to maintaining a high teacher to pupil ratio. Currently there is one teacher to 25 students. By maintaining smaller classes, students are able to benefit from personalized attention and problem-solving. This also encourages dialogue between our teachers and students, forming a necessary bond that is beneficial to the teaching and student development process.

 

Science Lab (Biology Lab, Physics Lab and Chemistry Lab)
All our labs are outfitted with the latest equipment so that no students are hindered in their academic research and practical work. Our labs are regularly updated to ensure that it complies with the Cambridge University Board of Education syllabi. The technicians we hire are competent individuals who can provide assistance alongside the teacher. The IIS labs are required to possess the best facilities as it conducts the IGCSE and Advanced Level practical examinations bi-annually.

 

Computer Lab
As IIS caters to a more modern, tech-literate generation, it is imperative that it provides its students unlimited access to the Worldwide Web. Our lab-supervisors and technicians are professionals who ensure that the latest software is at our students' disposal, while ensuring a secure environment for surfing the internet. Our parental control checks are very strictly-enforced to protect our young scholars. IIS maintains a 1:1 student to computer ratio. Our academic curriculum encourages a computer-based learning. As such, almost every subject has research-based projects to ensure that students become computer-literate, and are able to use e-resources effectively. As the IIS hosts Computing examinations on behalf of the Cambridge Board of Education, our facilities must be top-notch.

Indoor Swimming Pool
The Olympic-sized swimming pool caters for both primary and secondary students in IIS. The indoor factor implies that the students of the same gender are able to participate in water-based sports freely, a liberty that many schools are not able to provide. IIS also provides male and female lifeguards at all times, to ensure the safety of the students at the pool.

 

Indoor Basketball Court / Badminton Court / Table Tennis / Futsal Courts
The indoor courts cater to a variety of sports and recreational activities for both students and staff. With good lighting, ventilation systems and the latest sporting equipment and fixtures, IIS students can freely develop their non-academic passions and interests within the school compound.

 

Football Field
The football field is carpeted with high quality grass, and fenced all around in order to maintain the quality of the field and to ensure the safety of IIS students.

 

Library
IIS students enjoy a huge collection of books from around the world including extensive compilations and volumes of encyclopedias and references. The library is the heart of the school where most IIS teachers and students spend their free time discussing, revising or preparing for their lessons.

 

Local & International Cafeteria
The cafeteria is a favorite haven for the students where it houses vast varieties of cuisine ranging from the East to the West. The school undergoes regular and rigorous health inspections by the Education Ministry to ensure that our students are provided with a varied, nutritious and balanced diet. Our food provisions are considered one of the best amongst all international and local schools. Prices are kept as reasonable and affordable as possible for students. The cafeteria is also given clear instructions to maintain high standards of hygiene and strict adherence to the pricing policy, as set by the school management.

 

Art Room
The art room enables student to express their artistic talent with the assistance of professional and dedicated teachers. Our Art results at the IGCSE level have been exceptionally good on a consistent basis, thanks to our dedicated teachers. The Art room is equipped with all the necessary equipment and facilities to ensure that students can exploit and challenge their artistic aptitudes.
